The Cars

I’ve had quite a few cars thru the years. Everything from Smart cars to an American Muscle car, from a Morris Mini to a Toyota Horse transporter.

Unfortunately I don’t have pictures of all my cars.
If you have any pictures of any of my cars, please contact me 🙂

1972 Volkswagen 1302S

My first car was a used Beetle, that needed some love.
It’s body was a deep metallic green, but it had a few newer parts in different colours, so I had it repainted in Black.

The engine in the S (Sport) model was a 1600cc engine, based on the engine mounted in the popular VW bus.

1968 Ford Mustang

302 cui V8 (4,949 litres)

Hardtop model, with turbine alloy rims.

I bought this on september 1st 1992

The fuel tank took 60,56 litres of petrol, but luckily a litre of leaded 98 octane petrol cost less than 5 Danish “Kroner” back when I bought it.

The coolant system took 14 litres.

1962 Land Rover Series IIa SWB

I bought Laura on 9/8-1993, and paid 10.000,- Danish Crowns and a bottle of wine.

2,25 litres petrol engine, converted to F-gas, the same stuff as you put in your gasgrill, or terrace heater.

1973 Audi 80

Not much to say about the ownership of the Audi, as it was the shortest ownership I have ever had of a car. I got it as a part of a trade, when selling my Opel Record, and had swapped it with a Land Rover before I even got home.

Land Rover Series I

The Audi was a very short acquaintance, as an elderly gentleman down the street had something I very much was interested in.

1988 Fiat Uno 70 SX

Bought it 27/10-1999
On paper it sounded like the perfect car, for a technical geek like me.
The SX had every option on the list plus a fully digital dashboard, that was very futuristic back in the 1990’s.

Nissan Terrano II

The Nissan Terrano II, or the TerranoSAURUS as it quickly was named, was a very short success.
I got it at a very good price, but unfortunately there were a lot of expensive parts, that needed to be renewed, in order for us to be able to get it MOT’d.

The Terranosaurus had a very nice detail. It was one of the cars that had been modified into a pickup, in order to achive a lower import and registration tax when new.

Back then a row of companies specialized in chopping of roofs of anything from Porches and Chevrolet’s to Terranos and Landcruisers, in order to save thousands on taxes.
After chopping the roof of the bits were modified, so they were mounted as a removable “hardtop”.

2011 Peugeot 206+ HDI

The Peugeot 206+ was without doubt, the most boring car I’ve ever owned.

It was as dependable as wrought iron, and didn’t let us down during our +6 years of ownership, but it was soooooo boring.
