Land Rover Series I

I’ve rescued a rather special Series I Land Rover, with a coach built truck cab.

I’d been looking at this poor thing, rusting away in the garden of a elderly gentleman, down the street from where I live. It was one of several old cars, parked on the premises.

I sold my Opel Record to a man who wanted me to take his old Audi as a part of the deal. I didn’t really have the need for an old Audi, so I trundled by the gentleman with the Land Rover, in order to hear if he was interested to trade.

Well we both preferred what the other man had. He liked the four shiny rings on the Audi’s front grill, and I had a fancy for saving Solihull’s finest from further decay.

We swapped paperwork, and I called a friend in the Danish Land Rover Club, who had a lorry with a crane.

A few hours later this piece of history was parked in my driveway, instead of the gold coloured Audi.

However. I did clean it up, but let it go on to another Land Rover owner on the island.
I would have loved to get it running myself, but must admit that I didn’t have the time for more than one classic Land Rover 😁

If you have any pictures of it, before or after my ownership, please reach out. If you have any knowledge about it’s history, and it’s very special coach-built cab, please write, or leave a comment below.
